Industrial Careers Panel at K College

The panel will be an informal discussion on the path to a career as an industrial chemist; after introductions, most of the time will be left for student questions. We will use Teams as our virtual meeting platform. Attendees can register at this link.

Seminar, Dr. Daniela Arias-Rotondo, Kalamazoo College Faculty

Kalamazoo College Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Title: Photoredox Catalysis: An Inorganic Chemist’s View of Organic Synthesis Register: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJMpfu2hpzojHdCc6A5pCxPLdpmVN0xTQzFz Abstract: Photoredox Catalysis uses photoactive coordination complexes of transition metals to catalyze organic reactions. This strategy has enabled previously elusive transformations, opening the door to new bond disconnections and functionalizations. In the past decade or so, photoredox catalysis has been extensively studied by organic chemists around the world; the majority of these efforts is focused on the development of new synthetic methods. In-depth mechanistic studies, however, have somewhat lagged behind. This talk includes part of my work in photoredox catalysis (from the ...
